Sveriges TV-inspektionsföretags Förening bildades år 1989, i syfte att tillvarata medlemmarnas intressen inom områden som berör ekonomi, juridik, teknik och marknadsföring vad avser rörinspektion. 2003 upphörde STVF som förening och driver sedan dess sin verksamhet som en intressegrupp inom föreningen SSTT. STVF står numera för Sveriges Auktoriserade Rörinspektörer.
